We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales to lead our sales team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, managing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales within the apparel or related industries, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the Tanzanian market.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Follow up with customers to understand their demands, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively.
- Monitor all channels of communication from clients and convey relevant information between production and demand.
- Take care of the sales channels and maintain awareness of customer communications at all times.
- Follow up on payments and coordinate with the accounts department to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
- Be in charge of after-sales activities to ensure continued customer satisfaction.
- Analyze the competition and create thorough reports to inform strategic decisions.
- Create a system for tracking sales, complaints, and feedback to continuously improve the sales process.
- Develop realistic yet innovative sales strategies for the company’s products.
- Be able to create multiple storylines for our products and design effective sales funnels.
- Design and implement customer retention strategies to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Conduct thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for each new and existing customer.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive database of all customers.
- Handle sales outlets for our products in different markets, managing and optimizing their performance.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners.
- Prepare regular sales performance reports and present findings to senior management.
- Collaborate with the product development team to ensure product offerings align with market demands.
- Update customers on their order status at all times during various stages of production.
- Actively look out for export opportunities through the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the apparel or related industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of the Tanzanian market and consumer behavior.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in sales tracking systems and CRM tools.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and strong problem-solving abilities
